Handwashing

Handwashing is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs, illnesses, and infections in early childhood environments. Teaching and modeling proper handwashing habits helps protect the health and safety of children, staff, and families while promoting healthy daily routines.

Illness Reports

Keeping reports regarding illness updates is important because they help childcare programs track symptoms, identify possible outbreaks, and ensure children receive proper care and follow-up. Accurate illness documentation also supports compliance with licensing regulations, protects the health and safety of children and staff, and provides clear communication with families.

Proper Supplies

Having proper supplies for protection from bloodborne diseases, such as gloves, disinfectants, and first aid materials, helps reduce the risk of exposure to harmful pathogens. These supplies support a safe environment for both children and staff by ensuring that bodily fluids can be handled and cleaned up safely and according to health and safety guidelines.

About the course

This Bloodborne Pathogens training course is designed to provide childcare teachers and staff with essential knowledge and practical skills to safely prevent and respond to exposure to bloodborne diseases in early childhood environments. Participants will learn about common bloodborne pathogens, methods of transmission, universal precautions, proper handwashing procedures, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning and disinfecting practices, and safe disposal of contaminated materials. The course also covers OSHA safety standards, childcare licensing expectations, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children and staff.
